It’s double-o-no as Sir Sean Connery shuns James Bond anniversary celebrations

First and best 007, Sir Sean Connery, 82, won’t take part in money-spinning James Bond 50th birthday celebrations. He accuses the late producers, Cubby Broccoli and Harry Saltzman, of paying him ‘only one 50th’ of the vast earnings they accrued from an estimated box-office turnover of £7.5billion (when adjusted for inflation). Sir Sean also refuses to join later 007s Roger Moore and Pierce Brosnan on a Blu-ray disc collection of the movies. The fact that the franchise is now run by Broccoli’s forceful daughter, Barbara, 52, butters no parsnips with Sir Sean.
